About

Hey, we’re Erica and Jacquie.

Partners. Therapists. Feminists. Colleagues. Friends.

We are here to talk about the nature of privilege and oppression through our own experiences and with recognition of our positionalities.

We desire to engage, grapple with and take responsibility for our whiteness.  To make whiteness visible. Because here’s the thing, while so much of the world confirms whiteness, no one really talks about what “white” means, and the impact “white” has. It’s not a very popular conversation piece. And while whiteness frequently goes unnamed, it’s assumed, often without thinking about it or questioning it, as the normal, the center experience to be orbited around.

We also desire to grapple and struggle with being women, and lesbian, and tell our stories from other positionalities where oppression takes place. The hope in engaging these conversations is to discuss the complexities of how our positionality within privileges and oppressions intersect.  And more importantly, how we can act and find connection here.

A main space of exploration will take place in the context of sports.  It is a subset of our culture that exposes the nature of how privilege manifests, and the sports world holds many historical stories that have shaped where our culture is today.
